Gwyneth Paltrow Confirms Rumour Of Bill Clinton Snoring During White House Screening Of ‘emma’

Gwyneth Paltrow has confirmed a long-standing rumor about former US President Bill Clinton’s reaction to her film Emma.

Paltrow received great acclaim for her portrayal of Jane Austen in Douglas McGrath’s 1996 film adaptation of the novel.

In an interview on the long-running YouTube series Hot Ones, the 51-year-old performer and businesswoman corroborated Clinton’s reaction to the film during a screening at the White House.

Sean Evans hosts the show, which features celebrities eating increasingly spicy chicken wings while answering interview questions.

When Evans asked Paltrow if it was true that the former president fell asleep during a screening of the film, she said, “True—he was snoring right in front of me.”

She quipped, “I was like, ‘Wow, I guess this is going to be a real hit movie.'” But it was. “So f*** you, Bill Clinton!”

The Independent contacted Clinton’s representatives for comment.

The Independent described Paltrow’s 1996 release of Emma as “a triumph in the role, with an understated and whimsical performance.” It went on to become a movie-office blockbuster, generating approximately $40 million worldwide while having a budget of $8 million.

She earned the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Viola de Lesseps in the 1998 film Shakespeare in Love.

Following her theatrical career, the actress has moved on to other enterprises, most notably starting her lifestyle brand Goop in 2008.

In a recent interview, she expressed disappointment with allegations that Kourtney Kardashian’s brand, Poosh, was a “ripoff” of her own.

“I was so upset when Poosh was launched and people were like: ‘This is a ripoff of Goop,’” she said. “I was like, this is so awful, and trying to pit us against one another, which is so crazy.”

She added: “The world is better and stronger when women are in cahoots with one another. I feel like the patriarchy does this thing to us where they make us feel scarcity and that there’s not enough for all of us to do our thing. And it’s so detrimental.”
