House committee controlled by GOP issues subpoena for President Joe Biden’s ghostwriter

House Judiciary Committee Chair, Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, announced on Friday that his committee has issued a subpoena to Mark Zwonitzer, the ghostwriter for President Joe Biden. The subpoena specifically requests audio recordings and transcripts of Zwonitzer’s conversations with Biden.

According to the report by Special Counsel Robert K. Hur, Jordan claims that Biden shared classified documents with Zwonitzer for the purpose of including them in Biden’s memoirs.

Hur made the decision not to press any criminal charges against Biden or Zwonitzer regarding the documents.

The latest GOP endeavor aims to impeach Biden without providing any specific high crimes or misdemeanors that would warrant such an impeachment.

According to a letter addressed to Zwonitzer, Jordan explained that the special counsel’s report regarding Biden’s possession of classified documents after his tenure as vice president stated that “during many of the interviews with his ghostwriter, Biden read from his notebooks almost word for word.”

In the letter to Zwonitzer, Jordan highlighted that Hur’s report revealed a concerning pattern: Biden had allegedly read classified notes from national security meetings nearly word for word on at least three separate occasions.

According to the Special Counsel’s report, it was stated that Biden had intentionally kept and shared classified materials even after his tenure as vice president. However, Biden willingly handed over these documents when they were found to be in his possession.

In his report, Hur also revealed that the ghostwriter attempted to hide the recordings. However, Hur’s team managed to obtain them during their investigation.

The House Republican impeachment hearings have faced difficulties in pinpointing concrete evidence of impeachable actions by Biden.

During an impeachment hearing on Wednesday, Lev Parnas, a convicted former aide to Rudy Giuliani, criticized Republicans for “carrying out the agenda” of Russia by promoting false accusations against President Biden.

An FBI informant, whose testimony Republicans relied on, has been arrested on federal charges for allegedly lying about the business dealings of Biden and his son Hunter in Ukraine.

According to prosecutors from the Justice Department, Alexander Smirnov has confessed to the involvement of individuals connected to Russian intelligence in spreading a fabricated story about the Bidens.
