On his show Wednesday night, Jimmy Kimmel mocked former President Donald Trump’s legal troubles and financial problems.
Kimmel joked on his late-night show that “the great white supremacist has until Monday to come up with a $464 million bond, or the state may seize and sell his property,” referencing the former president’s deadline for a bond due next week due to his loss in a civil fraud case in New York.
Trump’s lawyers indicated this week that he does not have the cash to pay the bond, which is increasing by the day due to interest, and Trump said in a Truth Social post this week that the state was basically forcing him to conduct a “fire sale” of his properties to raise the funds.
Kimmel cracked some jokes on the subject.
“Something tells me over the weekend that Trump’s going to start talking about how strong Vladimir Putin is, and suddenly a dump truck full of rubles will pull up and cover this for him,” Kimmel said, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“But of course, the real loser here is Melania,” he remarked, referring to Trump’s wife, former First Lady Melania.
“She could wind up with half of the nothing he has now. “I hope she got an advance on that prenup, because if you think she hates him now, wait until he’s poor,” Kimmel added.
Kimmel and Trump have had numerous feuds over the years, but the current feud reached a new height during this month’s Oscars ceremony, which the ABC late-night celebrity hosted. Kimmel played a quotation from Trump criticizing his performance as host live on air before slamming the former president in front of a room full of Hollywood celebrities.
