Joe Biden and Kamala Harris disclose their most recent tax returns

On Monday, the White House revealed President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and their spouses’ 2023 tax returns.

According to those records, the president and first lady, Jill Biden, had a combined federal adjusted gross income of $619,976 and paid a combined federal income tax of $146,629. That’s basically in line with the previous year’s income and taxes.

Other taxes paid by the Bidens in 2023 were $30,908 in Delaware state income taxes and $3,549 in Virginia state taxes. (She’s a college teacher over there.)

The Bidens donated $20,477 to 17 charitable organizations in 2023. The Beau Biden Foundation, named for their late son, who died of brain cancer, and Women’s Wellness Space both got $5,000 in donations. The Bidens also gave $1000 to Ebenezer Baptist Church.

In their 2023 tax returns, Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff reported a total federal adjusted gross income of $450,299, and they paid $88,570 in federal income tax, the same as the previous year.

Harris and Emhoff contributed $23,000 to nine charitable organizations. The highest donations were to the arts funds at California State University in Northridge, Howard University, and the University of Southern California. The records show that each earned $5,000.

The previous president, Donald Trump, had long declined to make his tax returns public, breaking with White House precedent, with advisors claiming it was not a public concern.

However, some of his previous data was recovered and revealed by Democratic MPs in 2022.

In response, Trump claimed the documents “show how proudly successful” he was.
