Joe Biden Release 2023 Tax Returns, Showing Income Of Nearly $620k

The White House made public the 2023 tax returns of President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden. The couple earned a total income of almost $620,000 in the previous year as Americans hurried to file their taxes.

In 2023, the president and first lady accumulated a total income of $619,976. The majority of their earnings were derived from President Biden’s salary of $400,000 as well as pensions. Additionally, the first lady earned $85,985 from her teaching position at Northern Virginia Community College. As responsible citizens, they fulfilled their tax obligations by paying $146,629 in federal income tax, at a rate of 23.7%.

The White House has also made public the tax return of Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff. In the previous year, they earned $450,299. According to the documents, Harris and Emhoff paid $88,570 in federal income tax at a rate of 19.7%.

However, in 2022, the House Ways and Means Committee made public six years’ worth of Trump’s tax returns, which encompassed his tenure in the White House. These tax returns revealed that Trump did not pay any income taxes in 2020, as he experienced significant losses of $4.8 million at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In their tax returns, the Bidens reported paying $30,908 in Delaware income tax for 2023. Additionally, the first lady contributed $3,549 in Virginia income tax. Moreover, the couple generously donated $20,477 to a total of 17 charitable organizations. Notably, they made a significant contribution of $5,000 to the Beau Biden Foundation, which is dedicated to honoring the memory of the president’s late son.

In California, the second couple ended up paying a total of $15,167 in income tax, whereas Emhoff paid $11,599 in income tax in the District of Columbia. It’s worth noting that Emhoff is a teacher at Georgetown University and received a salary of $174,994 last year.

In 2023, the second couple generously donated $23,026 to various charities. Notably, they contributed $5,000 each to their alma maters, Howard University and California State University Northridge.
