Johnson plans to make another attempt to move forward with the Israel support package this week

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-L.A.) spoke on Sunday on the importance of passing an assistance package for Israel, noting that Congress was “going to try again this week” to bring it ahead.

“We’re going to try again this week, and the details of the package are being worked out. When asked about the package on Sunday Morning Futures, Johnson said, “We’re looking at the options and all of these supplemental issues right now.”

Bartiromo questioned Johnson about whether he had considered former President Donald Trump’s suggestion to convert Ukraine’s funding into a loan.

“I had a wonderful visit with him (Trump) on Friday. We are completely in agreement on these major agenda areas. I believe these are concepts that can garner support, and that’s what we’ve been working on,” Johnson added.

Johnson also spoke about the Biden administration’s response to Iran’s attacks on Israel.

“Standing with Israel is crucial at this time; we should not dictate their policies.” They are battling for their very lives, and it has never been more crucial for us to be there for them. And we’re determined to do it. I hope that is appreciated,” Johnson added.
