Judge Says Giuliani Can Appeal, But Prohibits Him From Using Personal Cash

Aiexpress – Rudy Giuliani must obtain court-approved third-party funding in order to appeal the $148 million ruling in his defamation case, as determined by a bankruptcy judge on Tuesday.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane has issued an order stating that Giuliani’s financial situation is extremely precarious. As a result, the fees necessary to appeal the verdict cannot be paid using Giuliani’s assets.

Judge Lane issued an order on Tuesday stating that the Debtor and his advisors will not be responsible for paying any fees and expenses related to the Freeman Litigation, specifically in regards to Post-Trial Filings and the Notice of Appeal. This decision ensures that these costs will not burden the Debtor or his estate.

He was found guilty in December of slandering Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Shaye Moss, two election workers in Georgia. The former Trump lawyer said in public more than once that the women helped fix the 2020 election against Trump so that Joe Biden would be president. This caused racist and violent threats against the women.

Giuliani wasted no time and filed for bankruptcy less than a week after the ruling.

According to recent documents filed in January, Giuliani estimates his debt to be between $100 million and $500 million. Additionally, he values all of his assets at $10.6 million in the same filing.

In the beginning of the month, Giuliani said that Trump stiffed him $2 million in legal fees for work he did on Trump’s 2020 campaign.
