Kay County murder suspect apprehended in Osage County

An arrest was made on Thursday morning at 9:31 a.m. when an Osage County deputy apprehended Alesha Erin Sroufe, a murder suspect, at the Triple T located on Highway 60.

After being informed by the authorities, Kay County deputies promptly responded to the scene. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, an ambulance was immediately dispatched to provide medical assistance. Sroufe, who was taken into custody, admitted to consuming fentanyl just moments before her arrest.

The injured person was taken to Integris Ponca City by ambulance. After being examined and cleared by medical personnel at 10:04 a.m., she was then transported to the Kay County Detention Center by a deputy.

Sroufe and Logan James Waters, both 38 years old, face charges in connection with the untimely death of 40-year-old Benjamin Waters due to an overdose. (see story)

Waters is currently in custody on a bond of $50,000, while Sroufe is being held on a bond of $250,000.
