Long Island Man Detained In Ms-13 Stabbing, Charged With Attempted Murder

Aiexpress – Their victims are still alive after a horrific MS-13 attack in Hempstead. Two MS-13 members are already under arrest.

Nassau County Police have detained a man they believe is the third suspect: Jose Lovo-Parada, 50, of Freeport, Long Island, who has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a vicious, gory assault in Hempstead last month.

According to authorities, four members of the MS-13 street gang allegedly assaulted, punched, kicked, and stabbed their victims about 3:40 a.m. on the sidewalk in front of the El Tenampa restaurant on North Franklin Street in Hempstead before driving away and leaving them for dead.

Their two victims, however, waited. When they believed it was safe, they crawled behind the building and down the alley in the dark.

When gang members learned their victims had fled, they followed the blood trail to the back of the Tres Sabores restaurant.

They were wandering about the lot in the dark.

The automobile drove over them both and drove away, the task accomplished.

Surveillance video captured the entire violent incident, including the automobile.

On Monday, the 1st Precinct Police apprehended Lovo-Parda. They recognized him from his arrest for crack possession on January 5, three days before the Hempstead incident.

Lovo-Parda remains in jail, with no bail posted, along with his two accused accomplices, facing felony accusations that could land each of them in prison for 50 years—25 years for each attempted murder, which would not be served concurrently.

Judge Madeleine Petrara-Perrin set his bail at $300,000 cash and a $3 million partially secured bond for each of the two attempted murders. He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, February 22, 2024, and has informed the judge via a Spanish interpreter that he will retain his own lawyer.

Amazingly, both victims are still alive and able to testify.

Lovo-Parada’s next court appearance in Mineola is planned for Thursday, February 22, 2024, before Judge Anthony Paradiso. His co-defendants, Jonny Turcios and Brandon Meza-Hernandez, are still in detention.

Lovo-Parada was charged in each case with attempted murder under New York Penal Law 110-125.25 01, first-degree gang assault under PL 120.07, assault with a weapon under NY PL 120.10 01, and assault inflicting serious injuries under PL 120.05 01. All four charges constitute felonies.

Turcios, 33, and Meza-Hernandez, 31, have both pleaded not guilty.

One suspect remains at large.
