The Los Angeles Police Department and the FBI are looking into a multimillion-dollar theft on Easter Sunday.
The money went missing on Sunday from a money storage facility in Sylmar, Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, according to law enforcement officials. The building’s owners discovered the theft of the money on Monday morning.
According to sources, the robbers were able to break into the facility without being caught.
They proceeded through the roof and into the place where the money is kept, which could have been a vault, according to officials informed of the investigation. According to sources, the operation’s sophistication indicates that some kind of crew is responsible.
There are no suspects at this time.
The LAPD and FBI are cooperating on the case.
Sources estimate the stolen amount to be in the tens of millions, but the exact amount is unknown.
