Minnesota warehouse evicts MyPillow due to non-payment of rent

According to The Associated Press, Mike Lindell, the founder of MyPillow and a well-known figure in the election denial movement, stated that the eviction is simply a formality as the landlord intends to reclaim the property.

The complaint, which was dated March 7, states that Lindell has not paid rent for February and March 2024. According to the lease agreement, since this is not the first time MyPillow has failed to make rent payments more than twice in the last 12 months, the landlord has the right to reclaim the premises.

According to Lindell, they no longer required the space and vacated the warehouse in June. They then subleased it to another company until December. Unfortunately, the company pulled out in January, leaving them in a difficult situation. MyPillow tried to find a replacement tenant, but the landlord insisted on reclaiming the warehouse.

According to The Star Tribune, Sara Filo, the attorney representing First Industrial LP, stated that MyPillow had “more or less vacated but we’d like to handle this in a proper manner.”

Lindell is currently dealing with several defamation lawsuits from two voting machine companies, as a result of his dissemination of false information claiming that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent and stolen from former President Trump. In February, a federal judge made a ruling that he is required to pay $5 million in an election data dispute case.

In July 2023, multiple prominent retailers decided to remove MyPillow products from their shelves. As a result, the company had to take action and started auctioning off various equipment, including forklifts and conveyor belts.

In January, Lindell found himself embroiled in a dispute with Fox News. The network made the decision to stop airing MyPillow’s ads, which left Lindell owing them approximately $7.8 million. Lindell believes that Fox News canceled the ads in an attempt to silence him due to his election claims.
