Mother Abandoned Her Children On A Los Angeles Freeway After She Allegedly Committed Murder, Cops Believe

A Los Angeles woman died in a traffic accident after police believe she committed murder, fled with her daughters, and left the infant and 7-to-9-year-old to die on the freeway after they fell out of her moving vehicle.

According to a news release from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Danielle Cherakiyah Johnson is the prime suspect in a homicide investigation.

CHP officers were alerted to a medical emergency through a 911 call on Monday at approximately 4:29 a.m., as stated in the release. Upon arrival at the scene, both CHP and Culver City Fire discovered Johnson’s infant daughter suffering from severe injuries, while her older daughter had sustained moderate injuries, according to CHP.

The Culver City Fire Department declared the baby deceased at 4:44 a.m., according to CHP. The older daughter was transported to a hospital to receive medical care for her injuries, as reported by the highway patrol.

Danielle Cherakiyah Johnson fled after the murder and when daughters fell out of the vehicle, CHP says

An “intense investigation” led officials to identify Johnson, whom they suspect of committing a homicide in Woodland Hills, a Los Angeles neighborhood, according to the CHP.

The CHP believes Johnson fled the murder site in a dark-colored Porsche Cayenne. According to the traffic patrol, the two juveniles “fell or were thrown out of the moving vehicle” while driving down the expressway.

Johnson did not stop when her girls exited the vehicle and continued driving to Redondo Beach, according to CHP. According to highway patrol, Johnson died as a result of her injuries after being involved in a car accident while enjoying the beach.

The CHP will protect Johnson’s daughters’ identities until further investigation.

Jaelen Allen Chaney was found dead in the couple’s apartment, reports say

29-year-old Jaelen Allen Chaney, Johnson’s husband, was discovered deceased at an apartment complex in Woodland Hills, as reported by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner and The Los Angeles Times.

The authorities have not disclosed the identity of the person whom Johnson is suspected of killing.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a neighbor at the apartments reported hearing commotion coming from the couple’s apartment before the woman left with the children.

“Their door was wide open, there was blood on the floor leading into their apartment, and then a trail of it in the hallway leading up to the elevator and I saw some blood on the walls,” one of Johnson’s neighbors told KABC-TV in Los Angeles, California.
