Nicolae Miu convicted of 6 charges in Apple River stabbing case

Nicolae Miu has been found guilty of multiple criminal charges, including homicide, in the 2022 Apple River stabbings in Wisconsin, according to jurors in Hudson, Wis.

Miu was found guilty by the jury of committing one count of first-degree reckless homicide, four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, and one count of battery. The court read the verdict on Thursday.

According to Nelson, they believed they had a strong case and a solid defense. However, he emphasized that self-defense is subjective and relies heavily on the perspective of the 12 individuals from the community who are asked to judge the situation.

Donny Hernandez, the father of 17-year-old Isaac Schuman who tragically lost his life in the attack, addressed the media in the aftermath of the verdict.

The trial concluded after eight days, during which over three dozen witnesses testified. Following the closing arguments on Wednesday, the jury commenced their deliberations and ultimately reached a verdict on Thursday morning.
