Nurse Faces Charges For Inappropriate Romance With Prisoner

The Department of Health has reported that a practical nurse in King County has been charged with misconduct for engaging in a romantic relationship with a prisoner.

Monica A. Davis, a licensed practical nurse, was charged with unprofessional conduct by the Board of Nursing in March, as reported by the DOH.

According to the Department of Health (DOH) reports, between October 2022 and December 2022, Davis was allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with a prisoner at a Department of Corrections facility in Connell. Davis, who worked as a nurse at the facility, was implicated in this incident.

The DOH revealed that Davis engaged in numerous romantic written exchanges and video visits with the prisoner, with all expenses being covered by her debit card.

According to the DOH’s investigation, the DOC Policy 850.030 states that DOC employees must be mindful of improper association and should not engage in association beyond what is required in the performance of their official duties.
