NYPD: Man Fatally Shot 11 Times Allegedly By Ex-caregiver In Manhattan Apartment

According to cops, a 25-year-old man fatally shot a man he used to care for by shooting him 11 times in a Manhattan apartment.

The NYPD says that on February 29, around 11 a.m., Joseph Fulford shot Tyrone Swinton, 60, five times in the back, twice in the head, once in the neck, twice in the chest, and twice in the chest. When he got to the hospital, they said he was dead.

The police said Fulford took care of Swinton for about five years after they met at the Boys and Girls Club. The two men got into a fight because Fulford was allegedly using drugs and letting people into Swinton’s home who he didn’t know. Fulford lived in Georgia for a few years before moving back to New York City not long ago.

On the day of the shooting, Swinton told his mom that Fulford was back and “looked bad,” according to the cops.

According to the police, Fulford was angry at Swinton for reportedly being rude to his family and for a fight over drugs.

Police said they found two pistols, an AR-15 rifle, and a 9mm gun that Fulford told them was the murder weapon when they searched his home with a search order. While they wait for lab reports on four 9mm shell casings that they think match the gun they found in Fulford’s house, police said.

Police say Fulford is charged with murder and illegal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
