Aiexpress – Payden Sells was shooting at police when they returned fire, killing him on February 23, according to Trooper James Grothey in a release.

At around 11:17 p.m., PSP York Troopers were dispatched to help local police with a “domestic incident” in the 600 block of Colonial Avenue in Spring Garden Township, according to Grothey.

Troopers immediately discovered that the 911 caller had “reported that there was an actor on scene with multiple firearms, attempting to gain access to the residence,” according to the announcement.

York City, Springettsbury Township, York County Regional, and West York Borough police forces also responded to assist.

It is unclear which police officers or troopers observed Sells leaving the residence, but Sells “began actively shooting a firearm in the direction of law enforcement officers.” “Law enforcement officers on the scene returned fire, killing Sells,” Grothey stated.
