PSP: Sharon Bentler Killed In Head-On Crash On I-81

Sharon Michelle Bentler, who was originally from Berwick and had been residing in Harrisburg, tragically passed away at Penn State Hershey Medical Center on Sunday. She had suffered multiple traumatic injuries in a crash on I-81 on April 3, as confirmed by Dauphin County press secretary Diane McNaughton.

According to McNaughton, the county coroner ruled her death as accidental.

According to a release by the Pennsylvania State Police, Bentler was a passenger in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado that was being driven by James Soto, 54, of Harrisburg.

According to a release by PSP Trooper Dustin Chubb, at 2:57 p.m., the driver suddenly left the right lane and swerved onto the grass while traveling north on I-81 near mile marker 78.5 in East Hanover Township.

According to Chubb, Soto and Bentler were both ejected from the Silverado after it drove up the embankment, struck a tree head-on, and rolled over twice.
