Report: High-ranking ‘sherri’ Executive Found Deceased In Apparent Suicide Following Inquiry Into Funds Discrepancy And Unsettled Studio Rent

Aiexpress – A high-ranking executive from the beloved daytime talk show, Sherri, was tragically discovered dead this month, in what is suspected to be a suicide. This distressing news comes at a time when the show is facing an investigation regarding missing funds and unpaid studio rent. The executive’s untimely demise adds another layer of complexity to the already tumultuous situation.

Sherri Shepherd’s show, Sherri, launched in September 2022. However, more than one year later, a shocking and heartbreaking development unfolded. On February 13, it was revealed that Matt Uzzle, 50, was found dead at his New York home.

Uzzle formerly managed The Wendy Williams Show and remained an executive in charge of production when Shepherd assumed the syndicated spot with Sherri in 2022.

The management of Uzzle on the show’s budget is currently under investigation by the parent company, Debmar-Mercury. An unpaid rent issue at New York’s Chelsea Studios has been discovered by the company since September 2023, as reported by Page Six.

At Sherri, Uzzle was primarily responsible for managing production and budgetary matters.

According to an insider at Sherri, there was a genuine worry among the staff that the show was going to be cancelled. However, Debmar had to intervene to prevent this from happening.

According to reports, Uzzle was given a few days to gather his paperwork after being confronted about the budget issues earlier this year.

Debmar-Mercury has recently enlisted the services of a law firm to aid in conducting an internal investigation into the unexpected passing of the Sherri executive.

“We have enlisted the services of Morgan Lewis to assist us in delving into the issue, and until the investigation concludes, we will refrain from making any additional statements,” a spokesperson for the parent company stated earlier this week.

During the February 15 episode of “Sherri,” Shepherd paid a heartfelt tribute to Uzzle, honoring his memory on air.

Uzzle, an Emmy-nominated professional, showcased his talent on various talk shows including “The Wendy Williams Show,” “The Montel Williams Show,” and “Maury.” In 2016, he received a daytime Emmy nomination for his outstanding work on “The Wendy Williams Show.”

RadarOnline.com previously reported that Uzzle’s death, which was suspected to be a suicide, occurred this month. This tragic event took place more than a year after Sherri premiered in September 2022 as a successor to The Wendy Williams Show.

Shepherd frequently stepped in for Wendy Williams during the last season of The Wendy Williams Show when Williams was unable to host due to health problems. This eventually led to tension between the two hosts when Shepherd was officially chosen to replace Williams.
