RFK’s daughter on Biden endorsement: ‘This election is the most crucial one in my life’

Kerry Kennedy is doubling down on her family’s pledge to back President Biden in November’s election against her brother, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has launched a long-shot independent candidacy for the White House.

“I think, you know, this is the most important election of my lifetime,” Kerry Kennedy told George Stephanopoulos of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The Biden team expects 15 members of the Kennedy family to endorse the president on Thursday during a campaign trip in Philadelphia. The Kennedys have been in conflict with RFK Jr. and his campaign, saying that his election would be “dangerous” to the country.

On “GMA,” Kerry Kennedy pointed out the importance of getting Biden elected, stating there is “no competition” for supporting the president. She thanked Biden for “carrying on the legacies” of both her father, Robert F. Kennedy, and her uncle, former President John F. Kennedy.

“I think the point here today is electing Joe Biden. It’s a two-man race. There’s only two people in this race who can get to 270 electoral votes: Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Joe Biden stands for the middle class; Joe Biden has built up our economy. Under Joe Biden’s leadership, crime has gone down 10 percent over the last several years,” she said.

“He is an extraordinary leader. He cares deeply. He shares my family’s values. We need every single person to go and vote for Joe Biden. If everyone who can vote goes out and votes, Joe Biden wins. And that’s what we’re here to do today,” she added.

Later on Thursday, Kerry Kennedy is expected to echo those comments in her endorsement of Biden.

“I can only imagine how my father, Robert F. Kennedy, would have been horrified by Donald Trump’s outrageous lies and behavior. He proudly served as the attorney general of the United States and always upheld his pledge to protect the country and uphold the law,” Kerry Kennedy expressed in her endorsement, as quoted by the Biden campaign.
