SC Democratic Party Faces Lawsuit from Left-Wing Political Pundit

A left-wing political commentator, Cenk Uygur, has lodged a lawsuit against the South Carolina Democratic Party, as reported by The Post and Courier. Uygur alleges that the party prevented him from being included on the Presidential Primary Ballot due to his non-American birth.

Cenk Uygur, originally from Turkey, became a naturalized citizen of the United States. He argues that the 14th amendment has eliminated the necessity for a candidate to be born on American soil. Uygur is the founder of The Young Turks, a progressive digital media platform.

Uygur had a plan to challenge President Biden for the Democratic nomination. In November, he organized a campaign event at the College Of Charleston. So far, Uygur has been approved to be on the ballot in six states, but he has faced denials from several other states.

The court will hear the case to determine whether he can be cleared in time to be included on the ballot in South Carolina.
