The election of Lara Trump as co-chair of the Republican National Convention has sparked anger among some Republicans.
Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump, son of Donald Trump, has been elected to a new role alongside chairman Michael Whatley. This decision was made at a meeting held in Houston, Texas, as announced by the Republican National Committee (RNC) in a news release on Friday.
“I am committed to safeguarding our elections, making sure that the RNC’s funds are allocated for maximum effectiveness, and expanding crucial resources to secure victories in closely contested races,” emphasized Lara Trump.
My sole focus on this committee is to ensure the re-election of Donald Trump, as well as to flip the Senate and expand the House in the upcoming November elections.
Numerous individuals on the internet have declared that they are no longer affiliated with the Republican party. Additionally, some have expressed their belief that the GOP is deteriorating with each new leader, and the blatant favoritism exhibited within the party will only serve as a significant victory for the Democratic party.
Ayden David Marietta, a Gen Z conservative who is active on social media, expressed their intention to prioritize down-ballot races in this election.
U.S. Navy veteran Dan Stilwell expressed his strong disapproval by stating that he would no longer contribute any money to the Republican Party as long as Lara Trump remains involved in its leadership. Similarly, some individuals mentioned that they would switch their affiliation from Republican to Independent. In addition, there were those who mentioned that they intend to vote for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
