Supreme Court Rejects MTG And GOP Reps’ Attempt To Overturn $500 Mask Mandate Fines

Aiexpress – The Supreme Court rejected an appeal from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and her two Republican colleagues who were seeking to overturn their fines for repeatedly refusing to wear face masks on the House floor during the COVID-19 pandemic. The justices did not provide any comment along with their decision to decline the appeal. Greene, along with Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ralph Norman (R-SC), had their constitutional challenge dismissed by a lower court, which also ruled that the mask policy is not subject to court review. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) agreed with the lower court ruling and urged the Supreme Court to reject the appeal. However, it is worth noting that the entire Republican leadership voted against the mask mandate. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Greene has accumulated fines totaling more than $100,000.
