Suspect Apprehended On Kidnapping Charge After Allegedly Hijacking La Bus With BB Gun

A suspect has been apprehended for a kidnapping offense after reportedly commandeering a Los Angeles public bus using a BB gun and compelling the driver to operate it, ultimately leading to a collision with a hotel, according to law enforcement officials.

Around 11:10 p.m. PT on Wednesday, the incident unfolded in downtown Los Angeles. The suspect boarded the Metro bus, as reported by police and transit officials. Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus at that time, according to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

According to the police, the suspect allegedly seized the steering wheel while the bus driver attempted to execute a left turn. This resulted in the bus colliding with multiple vehicles, one of which was occupied at the time.

In a dramatic turn of events, the bus careened into the iconic Ritz Carlton Hotel located in downtown Los Angeles. However, the suspect managed to escape on foot but was eventually apprehended by authorities.

The LAPD stated that they found a BB gun on the sidewalk in front of the bus.

Both the bus driver and a person in the car involved in the accident were taken to the hospital, according to authorities. The bus driver has been discharged, while the other victim is still in the hospital in stable condition, as confirmed by the police on Thursday afternoon.

Lindsey faces charges of kidnapping and is currently in custody with a bail set at $100,000. It remains unknown whether he has legal representation to speak in his defense.

The motive behind the incident has not been disclosed by the police.
