Aiexpress – Two men were arrested during an Indianapolis SWAT raid on a tire shop, which revealed that the firm was a drug-selling front, with drugs discovered stashed inside multiple automobiles.
James Wilkerson is charged with dealing cocaine, a Level 2 crime; unauthorized possession of a handgun by a violent felon, a Level 4 felony; dealing marijuana, a Level 6 felony; possession of a narcotic, a Level 5 felony; and possession of a controlled drug, a Level 6 felony.
William Boyd was arrested on preliminary allegations of trafficking cocaine while armed and selling marijuana. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office has yet to file any official charges against Boyd.
According to court filings, a SWAT team raided The Tire King, situated at 3839 E. Washington Street, on February 9.
Wilkerson, the tire shop’s owner, was arrested while standing inside the company.
Boyd walked to a neighboring Amoco gas station, where police detained him. Boyd reportedly handed over his gun to the gas station cashier when he noticed police entering the store, but the worker turned the firearm over to detectives.
According to the records, police accused Boyd of concealing various narcotics inside vehicles that were in various stages of repair or restoration. According to the police, the majority of the automobiles lacked registration plates and “were definitely inoperable.”
Police claimed a search of the shop turned up at least 50 empty heat-sealed plastic bags that smelled like marijuana, as well as digital scales commonly used to weigh drugs before packing and selling.
Wilkerson’s toolbox was reportedly found to contain suspected cocaine, approximately 100 amphetamine pills, and oxycodone.
Police discovered three jars of marijuana in one vehicle’s truck, as well as marijuana hidden inside a designer bag and a bag of Doritos.
Other vehicles also had marijuana, as well as a loaded Glock.
Police said five grams of suspected rock cocaine were discovered during a search of Wilkerson. Police also discovered hundreds of dollars in cash on both individuals, which they assumed were the profits of drug deals.
