A baby boy was welcomed as New York City’s Baby New Year at the exact moment of midnight in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
A beautiful baby boy was born at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. However, he is yet to be given a name.
The baby boy weighs 7 pounds, 12.5 ounces and measures 21 inches in length.
The baby boy is the first child of his mother and Rafael Abitbul, a couple from Flatbush.
The hospital has welcomed its fifth consecutive New Year baby.
The baby’s father was actually born at the same hospital, then known as NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, 23 years ago.
Interestingly, the doctor who brought him into this world also had the honor of delivering his newborn son!
In Queens, Jahsial Novoa came into the world just shortly after the start of the new year.
Novoa was born at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, weighing 6 pounds and 1.4 ounces, at 12:08 a.m.
Freddy Cortez and Merleene Novoa, his parents, are filled with pride.
Novoa expressed his gratitude and joy, stating, “We are truly blessed and incredibly happy.”
Cortez expressed immense excitement, exclaiming, “I am absolutely thrilled! We are all bursting with excitement!”
But Axel Novoa, Jahsial’s older brother, might surpass them.
“I am filled with happiness as I have always desired to have a younger sibling,” he expressed with joy.
