Two Boys Ages 12 And 7, Accused Of Stabbing 59-year-old Woman In Harris County, Texas: Police:

A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed by two children, according to Harris County, Texas, authorities.

In a social media post on Saturday, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that deputies arrived in a residential neighborhood northwest of Houston.

Police suspect the woman in her fifties was attacked by two children, who fled the scene immediately. Police said the woman was in critical condition over the weekend but was recuperating on Monday.

According to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Thomas Gilliland, a family member contacted 911 for the mother after she reported the youngster “poked her in the stomach,” and he witnessed the wounds.

Mother of charged 12-year-old Apologizes 

Authorities charged and arrested a 12-year-old boy for aggravated assault. A 7-year-old who was reportedly involved was not charged because the minimum age for criminal prosecution in Texas is 10.

The investigation is underway, according to the police, who have alerted Child Protective Services.

Click 2 Houston police said that the two brothers had a dispute with the 59-year-old woman, rode their bikes away, and then returned 12 minutes later while she was in her garage, where the crime occurred.

“My apologies to the family. I’m deeply sorry that my son caused the event. And I’m praying for your health and welfare,” the mother told Click 2 Houston, noting that her son has some mental health issues.

According to ABC13, a neighbor recognized the boys as being from the area.

The neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, told ABC 13 that none of us expected neighborhood kids to attack her. “If they have the ability to go and do that to an older woman who clearly has mental issues after our neighbor down the road tells them, ‘Hey, leave her alone,’ it’s a concern.”
