UK judge ordered Trump to pay $380,000 to the man penned infamous ‘Steele Dossier’.

Former President Donald Trump has been hit with another blow to his legal troubles as a judge in the United Kingdom has recently ruled that he must pay over $380,000 to Christopher Steele’s firm. Steele, a former British spy, gained notoriety for his involvement in the creation of the infamous 2016 dossier that alleged Trump’s connections with the Russians. This latest ruling adds to the mounting legal penalties faced by Trump.

In 2022, Trump filed a lawsuit against Orbis Business Intelligence, the firm owned by Steele, in a London court. The lawsuit claims that the “Steele Dossier,” a collection of memos, caused damage to Trump’s reputation and breached British data privacy laws.

However, in February, Justice Karen Steyn dismissed the lawsuit, without making a determination on the veracity of the allegations in the dossier. She did, however, order Trump to pay for Steele’s legal fees.

The judge’s order, made public on Thursday, has given Trump a deadline of 28 days to pay GBP 300,000, approximately $384,000.

Last month, Donald Trump received a substantial fine of $464 million in disgorgement and interest as a result of the civil fraud case filed against him by the New York attorney general. In addition, he recently posted a $91 million bond to cover the judgment and interest in the defamation case brought against him by writer E. Jean Carroll, as he continues to pursue an appeal.
