Young Colorado Skier Tragically Loses Life While Attempting Highway Jump

A 21-year-old man tragically lost his life in Colorado while attempting a daring skiing stunt.

The collision occurred on Highway 40, approximately west of Berthoud Pass Summit, a local mountain pass in the state’s center. The incident happened around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a Grand County Sheriff’s Office post.

A bystander stated that they performed CPR on the man and that he was “unconscious and not breathing.”

When emergency crews arrived at the site, they discovered that the 21-year-old had already died. Personnel from the Coroner’s Office also arrived at the scene.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victim was attempting to clear the width of Highway 40 just moments before his tragic death.
