Aiexpress – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that an incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sugar Grove Avenue in the 1600 block, specifically at the Sleep Inn & Suites. Initially, officers received a call regarding both a stabbing and a shooting.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the individual as Kallen Dixon, aged 24.
Officer Amanda Hibschman of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) expressed her condolences to the community and the families affected by this tragic incident.
IMPD acknowledges that the motive behind the killing is currently unknown, although the female victim is anticipated to recover.
The hotel authorities have not provided any information regarding whether the victims were guests at the hotel prior to the incident.
Hibschman stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that they currently lack any information regarding the cause of the incident.
The homicide adds to the already violent start of 2024, with 14 homicides occurring in just 19 days of the new year.
