6 People Discovered Dead In Remote Area Of California Desert

Aiexpress – Six people had been discovered dead in a remote area of the Mojave Desert in southern California.

Several local TV stations had to blur out pictures taken by their helicopter cameras because the scene was so brutal, according to reports.

Authorities from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office found five bodies on Tuesday night at a dirt road intersection outside of El Mirage.

Sixth was found early Wednesday morning, according to Mara Rodriguez, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office.

Investigators are still looking into what happened, according to Ms. Rodriguez, and they haven’t decided how the people died or whether they were shot.

Due to its rural location (about 50 miles northeast of Los Angeles and 20 miles northwest of Victorville), the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department asked the California Highway Patrol’s Aviation Division for help in finding the scene, Ms. Rodriguez said.

She also said that the coroner’s investigators would be called in a few hours, after which no one would be allowed to leave the spot.

Reporters from TV stations that came to the scene of the crime on Tuesday night saw two cars there. TV stations sent cameras above a dark blue SUV that had a broken passenger window and an open door. Part of the picture was blurry.

A video showed many yellow evidence marks near the dirt road intersection in a scrubby, miles-long desert area. Through the nearest paved road, yellow tape blocked entry.

Members of the department’s specialized investigations section took over the homicide investigation, according to an email from sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta.
