Alabama Murder Results in Life Sentence for Michigan Man, Extradition to Wisconsin for Homicide

Caleb Scott Anderson, a resident of Caspian, recently received a life sentence for the murder of Dwight Dixon, a 52-year-old man from Alabama. According to the report, Anderson had pleaded guilty to the crime in December. Initially, Anderson’s lawyer had planned to plead not guilty on the basis of insanity in July. However, a psychological examination deemed Anderson mentally capable of standing trial.

On August 3, 2022, Anderson, who was 23 at the time, was arrested in Alabama following a three-day crime spree in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Alabama.

He was recently sentenced in Alabama and has now been extradited to Wisconsin to face first-degree murder charges in connection with the stabbing death of Patrick Ernst, 65, in Green Bay. The tragic incident occurred on August 1, 2022.

In Michigan, Anderson is anticipated to be charged with the alleged sexual assault. The brave woman managed to defend herself and provided the authorities with a detailed description of both Anderson and his vehicle, which ultimately led to his arrest.
