Alexei Navalny’s Body Was ‘abused’ After His Death In Arctic Penal Colony, Says His Wife

Aiexpress – Yulia Navalnaya, the wife of late Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny, said that her husband’s body had been abused while awaiting burial.

Navalnaya told the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin killed her husband.

She said that her husband had been “tortured for three years” by Putin because he was cut off from the rest of the world, starved, and couldn’t talk to his family and friends.

“Then they killed him.” Navya said, “Even after that, they hurt his body and his mother.” The Kremlin has said that it had nothing to do with Navalny’s death.

Navalny’s mother said that Russian officials wouldn’t let her bury him and told her she had to have a private service. Eight days after he died, they finally gave in.

The Kremlin hasn’t said anything about the claims yet.

According to her, her husband would be buried in Moscow on Friday. However, she wasn’t sure if the event would be quiet because Russian police might try to arrest people who came to attend.

Navalny was Putin’s strongest enemy. He died on February 16 in a Russian prison colony, where he was being held on charges that were mostly seen as political.

The Russian government said that he died of natural causes, but Western leaders, such as US Vice President Joe Biden, say that Putin was behind Navalny’s death.

Navalny fought against Putin and his inner circle for years, having anti-Kremlin rallies and putting out videos that went viral that he said showed how corrupt they were.

After almost dying from poisoning in 2020, he was taken to another country for care. He came back to Russia in 2021 and was jailed.

Navalnaya told the leaders of Europe that penalties would not be enough to beat Putin and that they needed to be as creative as her late husband.

She tells MEPs in Strasbourg, “If you really want to beat Putin, you have to come up with new ideas.” “And you have to stop being boring.”
