Andrew Tate Arrested After Streamer Accidentally Disclosing His Plan To Flee Romania

Social media influencer and self-proclaimed misogynist, Andrew Tate, found himself detained in Romania on Tuesday. The authorities were able to apprehend him after an online streamer tipped them off about his intended escape from the country.

Tate’s arrest in the UK, along with his brother Tristan Tate, was prompted by the lawyers representing Andrew Tate’s four accusers. They received information that he was intending to flee Romania. Will Sommer, a media reporter for The Washington Post, verified that the tip came from Adin Ross, a streamer, who shared it in an online video.

Andrew had hit me up, he said, “Hey, I’m gonna be leaving Romania soon and probably never coming back if you wanna come over and do a week of longstreams and content before I leave, I think it’ll be big, and it’s never” — I’m sorry, he said, “It’s not, it’s basically now or never.”

Sommer shared the video and the memo released by the accusers’ lawyers.

Andrew and his brother Tristan were detained on Monday night and received an arrest warrant from UK authorities. The arrest warrant is related to an investigation into allegations of “sexual aggression” that occurred between 2012 and 2015.

Tate and his brother were scheduled to go on trial in Romania for separate charges of rape and human trafficking. They had been under house arrest, but in August, Andrew Tate appealed for his release and was granted it, with the condition that they remain in the country.
