Brooklyn Tower captured swaying in powerful gusts of wind in video footage

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Ai Express) – The video posted on Instagram shows the Brooklyn Tower swaying back and forth during the strong wind gusts of a winter storm that swept through the New York City area.

WhatIsNewYork shared a post showcasing a timelapse video of the Brooklyn Tower swaying in the strong 60 mph wind gusts that occurred last night.

The video, which is 37 seconds long, has garnered over 1 million views and has been shared more than 50,000 times on Instagram. Additionally, it has received over 45,000 likes.

On Tuesday, the tri-state area experienced a powerful storm that brought about heavy rainfall and strong winds, as reported by meteorologists from PIX11 News.

According to the National Weather Service, wind speeds reached a maximum of 45 mph in Brooklyn, 55 mph in Midtown Manhattan, and peaked at 63 mph in certain areas of Suffolk County on Long Island.

In response to the video, JDS Development Group, the management company of the Brooklyn Tower, issued a statement through a spokesperson.

According to a spokesperson from JDS, the building, like all tall buildings, is specifically engineered to move and functions as intended on a typical windy day.
