Aiexpress – Authorities instructed nearby residents to take shelter in place after a landmine was found in a storage unit in Colorado on Wednesday.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning for residents within a quarter-mile radius of 10201 W. Hampden Ave. This location is identified online as a self-storage facility.
Authorities reported the discovery of a land mine in a storage unit at the specified location. Currently, a bomb technician is present at the scene while the military is being called upon to ensure the safe disposal of the device.
The Army quickly determined, approximately two hours after the land mine was discovered, that the device was “inert.” Consequently, it was promptly removed from the facility, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
The shelter-in-place order has been lifted.
It is still uncertain whether any illegal activities occurred.
