Aiexpress – The Washington, D.C. Bar’s investigators have filed disciplinary charges on Friday against three lawyers who actively assisted former President Donald Trump in his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
In recently disclosed filings, authorities have accused attorneys Juli Haller, Lawrence Joseph, and Brandon Johnson of deliberately providing false information to the courts in multiple lawsuits challenging the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
Both Haller and Johnson have been found to have filed blatantly false claims regarding election fraud, according to investigators.
Joseph found himself embroiled in a lawsuit initiated by former Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert against then Vice President Mike Pence. The lawsuit aimed to pressure Pence into taking actions that would sway the election in favor of Trump. However, the lawsuit was eventually dismissed by a federal district court judge and appeals court. Ultimately, it reached a standstill at the U.S. Supreme Court on Jan. 6, 2021.
Haller played a role in the well-known “Kraken” lawsuits led by former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell. These lawsuits sought to overturn President Joe Biden’s wins in various swing states.
Afterward, Haller went on to provide legal representation for various defendants involved in insurrection cases. His career path then led him to join the America First Legal Foundation, an organization aligned with former White House adviser Stephen Miller and supported by Trump.
Johnson teamed up with Haller in multiple lawsuits and legal proceedings involving Powell.
All three lawyers will have their charges reviewed by a committee within the legal organization. If they are found to be at fault, they may face a range of sanctions, from a reprimand to being disbarred.
