Georgia Approves Legal Gun Shooting for Childrens

In Georgia, it is against the law for anyone under the age of eighteen to possess or control a firearm, as stated in Ga. Code Ann. § 16-11-132(b). Additionally, individuals under the age of twenty-one are prohibited from purchasing a handgun.

Both the state and federal governments enforce stringent rules and regulations on the possession and purchase of firearms. Additionally, they have implemented strict guidelines for the storage of these firearms to ensure they are kept safely away from children.

It is indeed legal for children under the age of twelve to shoot guns in the state of Georgia.

Under strict supervision, children are allowed to shoot guns for hunting purposes, as stated by the same law mentioned earlier.

The code actually includes a clause that specifically allows them to do it.

The regulations stated in this Code section do not apply to individuals who take part in organized sport shooting events or firearm training courses.

Children who are under the age of fifteen have the opportunity to obtain a youth sportsman’s license, allowing them to hunt alongside you in your stand. However, it is important to note that in order for your child to hunt without supervision or to hunt after their 16th birthday under this license, they must first complete hunter education, as stated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
