Governor Kristi Noem calls hush money case “ridiculous” and “unprecedented”

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) criticized the New York hush money case that was filed against former President Trump, calling it “ridiculous” on Sunday.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Norm expressed his concerns about the current tactics employed by Democrats, particularly their reliance on the judicial system and activist judges. He emphasized the importance of allowing the people and the jury to make fair and just decisions based on the evidence presented. Norm also highlighted the extraordinary nature of the trial, describing it as both unprecedented and absurd.

Noem, a staunch supporter of the former president, also stated that prosecutors should have brought the case against Trump years ago rather than during election season. Trump will spend the majority of the next few weeks in a Manhattan courtroom after the hush money trial began last week.

“I think it’s a little crazy that they’ve waited years to file these charges against Donald Trump. You know, if they intended to file these charges against him, they should have done so two years ago, when this occurred. “To do it conveniently during a presidential election when he is campaigning to return to the White House, I believe, demonstrates that this is all politically motivated,” she said.

Her sentiments match those of Trump and his defenders, who have contended that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s (D) prosecution against the former president should have been pursued earlier if it had not been politically motivated. Trump has also mentioned Noem as a potential running mate for his second term in the White House.

The former president is charged with 34 counts of falsifying business documents in relation to reimbursements Trump made to his ex-fixer, Michael Cohen, for a $130,000 payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to keep quiet about an alleged affair.
