The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified the motorcyclist who tragically lost their life in a crash on Saturday, December 30. The accident occurred at Woodmen Road, resulting in the closure of I-25 for several hours.
According to CSPD, the investigation into the crash unveiled that Reese was traveling southbound on I-25 at a considerable speed, overtaking other vehicles. CSPD further stated that Reese lost control of the motorcycle and crashed near Woodmen Road. As a result, Reese was thrown into the center median, while the motorcycle itself ended up in the northbound lanes of I-25, eventually coming to a stop in the center lane.
The El Paso County Coroner officially identified Reese on January 2nd.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), there have been 50 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs in 2023, compared to 56 at the same time last year.
