Kansas City Man Pleads Guilty And Receives Sentence For 2021 Shooting

Aiexpress –  A 25-year-old man was fatally shot in Kansas City, Missouri, and a local resident has pleaded guilty in connection with the incident.

Damon Lee has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action in connection with the death of 25-year-old Darryl King.

Martin Luther King Jr. met a tragic end in April 2021 when he was fatally shot at an apartment complex located near East 60th Terrace and Highland Avenue.

According to court records, charges were filed and a warrant was issued shortly after the shooting. However, a few months later, the FBI launched a search for Lee by putting his photo on multiple billboards across the Kansas City area.

After the deadly shooting, it took six months for Lee to be apprehended, and he was subsequently indicted by a grand jury in the following autumn.

Lee’s attorneys decided to request a plea hearing just days before his trial, which had been repeatedly rescheduled. This information is revealed in the court records.

Lee has been sentenced to 18 years in prison as part of his guilty plea.
