Murder Charges Filed After Fatal Shooting at Beech Grove Apartment Complex

A heartbreaking incident occurred at an apartment complex in Beech Grove, Indiana, where a young woman is now facing murder charges following a deadly shooting that resulted from a heated dispute. D’Yauni Wilkins-Jones, aged 22, has been charged with one count of murder and two misdemeanor battery counts in relation to the incident that took place on April 25.

The Beech Grove Police Department received reports of gunshots at an apartment complex in the evening, around 9:14 p.m. Eyewitnesses at the scene heard a flurry of gunshots, prompting officers to respond to the incident.

Witnesses described the incident, stating that Wilkins-Jones callously ignored the injured victim and showed no remorse, saying, “I don’t care, he shouldn’t have intervened.”

D’Yauni Wilkins-Jones is scheduled to go through legal proceedings, as stated in Marion County court documents. A pretrial hearing is set for February 13, 2024, followed by a jury trial on February 20, 2024.
