NY Hospital Greeter With No Priors Arrested In A Series Of Citywide Stabbings

Aiexpress – A hospital greeter in New York who had never been caught for a crime was charged with a string of random stabbings that kept the city on edge.

Mayor Eric Adams told the press Thursday that Jermain Rigueur, a 27-year-old visitor at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, had been arrested.

He is being charged with several counts of trying to kill someone.

Adams said of Rigueur, “It didn’t look like he was looking to stop any time soon.” Rigueur is accused of using a hunting knife in six stabbings that started on January 8 and went on for nine days, according to CBS News.

Rigueur stabbed a 61-year-old man in the back. “The suspect actually laughed in the victim’s face,” said NYPD Chief of Detectives Joe Kenny.

Five more people, aged 28 to 74, were reportedly attacked earlier this week and got stab wounds that are not life-threatening.

Authorities told WABC-TV that Rigueur had no history of mental illness and had never been arrested before.

“He did a background check, and as the police chief told you, he had no bad records.” So his record was clean, even though we do fingerprints. “The background check went well,” Dr. Mitch Katz, president and CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals, told CBS.

A reason is still Under investigation.
