Off-duty NYPD officer faces DWI Charges After Driving On NYC Sidewalk, Empty White Claw Found In Car

Aiexpress  –  An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested on Wednesday morning for driving under the influence in the East Village. Authorities discovered an empty can of White Claw underneath her seat.

According to a criminal complaint, police discovered an incoherent cop named Lesley Pierluisse, 42, driving a Hyundai Santa Fe on a sidewalk on East 14th Street between Avenue B and Avenue C around 1:30 a.m.

During the questioning, it was observed that Pierluisse, a 15-year department veteran, had difficulty answering the questions and displayed slurred speech, according to the complaint.

According to prosecutors, the police discovered an open whiskey bottle under the floor mat in the back seat. The intoxicated officer, on the other hand, refused to undergo a breathalyzer test.

During her arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court, she entered a plea of not guilty to charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while apparently impaired, and refusal to take a breath test.

She was released from custody without having to pay bail.

According to records, Pierluisse, an officer in the 7th Precinct, earned $133,000 in the previous year.

According to the NYPD, she was suspended without pay following the incident on Wednesday.
