Aiexpress – During a basketball game between two rival Colorado schools, a physical altercation occurred which resulted in one individual being hospitalized.
Multiple fights broke out during the Eaglecrest and Smoky Hill high schools game on Wednesday night at Eaglecrest, prompting the deputies working the game to call for backup, as reported by KMGH-TV, a Denver television station.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with Cherry Creek Public Schools to examine surveillance footage of the brawl. The video captures students shouting and taunting each other, and eventually, a group of teenagers engaging in physical altercations.
Eaglecrest Principal Gwen Hansen-Vigil addressed the community in a letter, stating that the altercation occurred at the conclusion of the game.
ACSO reported that the fights were successfully broken up by deputies, resulting in the dispersal of everyone involved.
The agency is currently collaborating with the staff of Cherry Creek Schools to carefully analyze the surveillance footage of the incident.
According to the author, there were security personnel and several law enforcement officers present at the game, who promptly intervened when the fight broke out. It is important to note that no weapons were involved in the altercation.
