It is reasonable to assume that Mrs. Murphy supported George W. Bush in the 2000 and 2004 elections, based on her campaign contributions.

However, what truly disappoints me is the fact that Tammy Murphy not only supported but also voted for him, potentially even twice. It is this support for the man who appointed Sam Alito to the US Supreme Court that makes it impossible for me to ever vote for Tammy Murphy in any capacity.

On that very day, she also made a generous donation of $5000 to the NJ Republican State Committee.

In 2000, Mrs. Murphy donated $1000 to Congressman Jim Saxton, a dedicated Republican supporter of the war, who served as the representative for NJ’s 3rd congressional district for 25 years.
When I first arrived in New Jersey in 2003, Congressman Saxton was representing my district. His views on abortion, LGBT rights, and the Iraq war were extremely conservative, which provided ample reasons for a young activist like myself to protest and organize. One might argue that Jim Saxton’s extreme positions actually played a role in shaping my future career as an advocate.
The $1000 check received from Mrs. Murphy almost 25 years ago still holds a personal significance.
In those days, Murphy’s generosity extended beyond Saxton in the GOP. US Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) and Congressman Sherwood Boehlert (R-NY) also received $2000 each.
