Aiexpress – Two men from the Kansas City area were sentenced to federal prison on Thursday for their involvement in distributing methamphetamine.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in KCMO, Eric M. Stilley, aged 42 and a resident of Independence, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison without parole.
In September 2023, Stilley entered a guilty plea to charges related to methamphetamine distribution. The charges included one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
In September 2023, Devin Lawson, a 30-year-old resident of Kansas City, pleaded guilty to a single charge of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine, as stated in the news release.
In August 2022, Stilley was pulled over by Independence police officers for operating a motorized scooter without a license plate.
According to the news release, Stilley was taken into custody by officers for the outstanding warrants. Upon searching him, they discovered that he had 77 grams of methamphetamine and 6.6 grams of fentanyl in his possession.
During a search of Lawson’s residence in February 2022, Independence officers discovered a variety of illicit items. These included 20 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, as well as firearms and ammunition.
