Rapper 50 Cent’s attempt to have a lawsuit against him dismissed has been unsuccessful. The lawsuit accuses him of intimidating and threatening an ex-drug dealer named Cory “Ghost” Holland. On December 19, Judge Analisa Torres denied 50 Cent’s motion to dismiss the case, according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop.
In 2021, 50 Cent faced a lawsuit from Holland regarding his involvement in the STARZ series “Power.” The ex-drug dealer claimed that the show utilized his life story without obtaining proper permission.
Earlier this year, 50 Cent was hit with a new lawsuit by Holland, who accused him of engaging in an intimidation campaign. In the lawsuit, Holland expressed his fear for his life, alleging that the G-Unit rapper was attempting to orchestrate a hit.
According to Holland, the source of fear and constant anxiety stems from 50 Cent’s power to employ a hitman, a result of his lucrative 150 million dollar contract with STARZ/LIONSGATE.
Holland accused the federal government of sheltering 50 Cent, asserting that the outspoken artist was able to evade any repercussions. Holland provided examples of other individuals who had fallen victim to the wrath of the “Power” producer.
According to Holland, there is a belief that 50 Cent receives protection from the federal government. This notion has been mentioned by various individuals with whom he has been involved in violent situations. Whether it’s his child’s mother or former music executives like Chris and Irv Gotti of Murder Inc Records, 50 Cent seems to possess the ability to do things that ordinary people cannot.
The defendant’s social media antics were also brought up by Holland.
“He heartlessly singles out individuals on social media with one intention: to humiliate them and benefit himself,” Holland expressed. “This is the same treatment he subjected DJ Khaled, Shaniqua Tompkins, Megan The Stallion, and numerous other people to. He believed I would be his next target, but I stood up against him. It’s the only way to confront a bully!”
The former drug dealer strongly emphasized that his family faced a serious peril. He asserted that they lived in a perpetual state of fear because of the supposed danger of an attack.
In opposition to 50 Cent’s legal team’s argument that the lawsuit was merely an abuse of the judicial system and should not be permitted to advance to the discovery phase, Judge Torres ruled in favor of the plaintiff, allowing the civil dispute to proceed.
