A man from Westmoreland is wanted in Stafford for murder

The Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning that the 29-year-old man from Westmoreland County, who is wanted for murder in Stafford, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Darren Jamal Newman is being sought by authorities in connection with the tragic killing of a 33-year-old individual from King George.

On December 30, just before 12:30 a.m, police were called to the 100 block of Deacon Rd. in South Stafford by the SCSO. They discovered a man from King George who had been shot multiple times.

The police initially provided limited information about the suspected shooter, describing him as a black male with long dreadlock-style hair. They mentioned that he fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.

The SCSO later announced that they had found the dark-colored vehicle and identified Newman as the suspect. Newman is now wanted for second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
