A shooting on Indy’s northeast side Thursday night is being investigated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan police, as it resulted in the death of one man.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received reports of a shooting incident around 10:15 p.m. They immediately dispatched officers to the 4800 block of Lakeshore Place, located near Allisonville Road and 82nd Street.
An adult woman believed to be responsible for the shooting has been detained by IMPD. The authorities have assured that there is no longer a threat to the public. It is unclear what the exact nature of the relationship between the woman and the victim was, although they were known to each other.
According to a recent update from IMPD, the woman has been released pending further investigation. This decision was made in consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s office.
IMPD has confirmed that the shooting is currently under investigation. While the exact details surrounding the incident are still being determined, it is believed to be domestic-related.
