Alex Jones, a right-wing conspiracy theorist, threatened to go on a “warpath” against Donald Trump after the former president bragged about COVID-19 vaccines on his platform, Truth Social.
In a critique of President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, Trump boasted about distributing COVID-19 vaccines to the public in less than a year, alleging Biden would have needed a dozen years.
Despite being a well-known Trump supporter, Jones was furious with Trump’s response. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he labeled Trump’s article “bulls**t” and vaccines a “biological weapon.”.
Jones went a step farther and threatened Trump on his show InfoWars.
“If I see any more of this from Trump, I’m going to have to go on the warpath,” Jones told CNN. “I just cannot take this—II cannot put my head down on the pillow at night and say that I’m a true person to everybody when I’ve already held my nose because of the overwhelming good he’s doing and all the persecution, and put up with stuff like this.”
Later in the show, Jones made the claim that COVID-19 was actually “cooked up” by Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former Chief Medical Advisor to the president. He further asserted that vaccines had already been developed and were ready for release. Moreover, Jones expressed that Trump’s post had a profound negative impact on him, making him feel physically sick.
While expressing his endorsement for Trump’s re-election, he advised voters to approach the former president’s statements with caution.
“We shouldn’t rely solely on one individual. It’s easy to get caught up in the Trump phenomenon and make it the center of everything. But that’s a pessimistic outlook,” Jones expressed. “No, it’s a significant battle, and we must ensure he is elected. My intuition tells me it’s the right course of action. However, I also believe that instead of blindly following Trump, we should support him, allowing us to hold him accountable.”
